P1 is Perth’s newest co-location Data Centre constructed by NextDC in Malaga, Western Australia. It provides 3000sqm of Data Hall space translating to 1500 racks when fully complete.
It has been built for the purpose of proving a secure, conditioned environment for clients to store their IT data. ECS were employed by NextDC for commissioning verification, overseeing aspects of the services commissioning and carrying out sample witness testing of Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire, Security, Diesel and DRUPS systems.
ECS were engaged to both write the Integrated System Test (IST) scripts and to manage the running and reporting of the final IST’s, prior to Uptime Certification.
One of the main challenges involved with this project was the shortened timeframe in which the project was to be delivered. This lead to a concentrated commissioning timeframe where careful attention to detail was required to ensure all items had been fully tested, commissioned and comprehensively documented. P1 has now been officially certified an Uptime Tier 3 Data Centre.
