Global Switch expanded their operations in Sydney by developing a new 32MW facility adjacent to their existing site in Pyrmont. The facility is the be constructed in 3 stages with 2 stages currently completed.
ECS was engaged as the Commissioning Authority (CxA) by Global Switch for the first phase of the project and then based on the success of this were subsequently engaged for the second and most recent stage.
ECS’ involvement included production of a project specific Commissioning Specification and Plan, Factory Witness Testing and on-site inspection and verification of the facilities critical services including
- Electrical Services (HV & LV),
- DRUPS & IP Bus System,
- Chilled and Condenser Cooling Water,
- Data Hall Cooling,
- Fire Detection & Suppression (Gas & Pre-action),
- Hydraulics,
- Diesel Fuel,
- Controls & Building Management Systems,
- Security services
Following completion of commissioning ECS authored and carried out comprehensive Integrated Systems Testing at each handover stage.
The second stage of the project required intensive coordination with the operations team and the contractors to allow extension of existing power and cooling system by integrating new equipment. ECS was contracted for this project as we had demonstrated our capability and expertise in the commissioning management of critical infrastructure, our ability identify and resolve commissioning issues and our ability to monitor and work with their contractors, vendors and design team to deliver the required outcomes.
